What You'll Do
Working under the guidance of experienced engineers and senior designers, you'll transform concepts into detailed electrical designs:
Create Electrical Drawings - Develop schematics, wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and design details using AutoCAD
Site Documentation - Conduct field surveys at project sites to capture existing conditions and verify designs
Technical Coordination - Collaborate with engineers to ensure drawings meet specifications and standards
Quality Deliverables - Produce professional design documents for review and approval by licensed engineers
You'll gain hands-on experience with diverse electrical systems including substations, renewable energy interconnections, battery storage facilities, and medium/high voltage infrastructure.
What We're Looking For
Required:
Proficient in AutoCAD (demonstrated experience required)
Ability to interpret and analyze technical data
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication skills for team collaboration
Valid driver's license and U.S. work authorization
Preferred:
Associate degree in drafting, design, or related field
Familiarity with electrical design and drafting standards
Experience with BIM modeling and Revit
Previous electrical or power systems drafting experience
Understanding of electrical schematics and symbols
Position Details
Location: Connecticut office
Travel: Occasional site visits (1-2 days per month); minimal overnight stays
Compensation: $25-$35/hour CAD experience + electrical exposure, (entry level, no electrical exposure $18-22/hr) plus comprehensive benefits
